My Italian Secret: The Forgotten Heroes Film Screening

Join us and our friends at the Ulster County Italian American Foundation for a screening of My Italian Secret: The Forgotten Heroes.  Following the film, enjoy an exclusive interview with Vincent Marmorale, the producer of My Italian Secret and the President of Italy and the Holocaust Foundation.

Come together for a celebration of Italian and Jewish connection during Italian-Heritage Month! The event begins at 7pm and admission is free, but donations are encouraged (suggest donation: $20). We can’t wait to see you there!

Reher Center Presents: Stories of Lore From Around the World! Join us in the Reher Center Gallery (through our Spring Street entrance) on Saturday, October 26th from 6-8pm during the Kingston Waterfront Business Association’s final Night Market of the season! We’ll be featuring live readings of stories on the spookier side from several cultures around the world.

Stories will begin every half hour starting at 6:15pm. Light refreshments will be provided.

Join us for RYE: Bread, Whiskey, and Jewish History, a conversation and tasting of rye bread and whiskey at the New York Distilling Company. An event curated by the Reher Center's own Dr. Sarah Litvin, we'll gather for an Eastern European Jewish gastronomic conversation with Andrew Coe, Avery Robinson, and Sarah Litvin moderated by Amy Halloran on the history of rye bread, rye whiskey, and a discussion of the unique history of this grain, including its contemporary revival.

Have you always wanted to learn how to interview family members, neighbors, or friends?

Connect over culture, family, and memories as we partner with Dr. Willa Zhen from the Culinary Institute of America and Place Corps for a Community Oral History Training Day!

Join us at the Reher Center Gallery on Monday, January 22nd at 1:00pm and learn how to prepare, conduct, and record your own Oral Histories! Professor and Food Studies scholar Dr. Willa Zhen of the Culinary Institute of America will lead an educational and interactive workshop sharing the tips and tricks to becoming an oral history expert.

Optional: bring an object of significance with you!
