As the scaffolding around our building comes down, we’re thrilled to open our doors even wider and welcome all to experience the warmth and history of the Reher Center, where every visitor can feel a sense of home.
Just as the Reher family once extended their hearth and heart to newcomers, our mission is to create a space that feels like home for everyone—especially for those who are building new lives here.
The Reher Center is a gathering place, a community living room, and a home where stories are shared, memories are made, and everyone—whether a visitor, neighbor, or newcomer—is embraced.

The Reher buildings are in full infrastructure-improvement mode as the mission completes the first phase in a major rehabilitation of the spaces, bringing to life the Reher’s historic bakery, retail shop and the above living quarters.
This is how the Hudson Valley has come together in recognizing the Rehers and the thousands of visitors who come to the waterfront to get acquainted, past and present, with the American experience.
